Learn to draw comics in manga and Western styles at Willingboro Public Library in a workshop for teens and adults. Graphic artist Philip Renne will demonstrate and teach these techniques on Mon., May 19 at 6:30 p.m. Registration for this free program begins May 5. Participants are asked to bring their own pencils and sketch pads.

"My goal is to give artists the tools to put together their own manga or comics and to continue to improve their techniques through practice," says Renne. This hands-on workshop will include warm-up exercises, copying expert manga, anatomy tips, page layout, and story flow.

Renne is a free lance illustrator for computer gaming publications. As a fine artist, he also works in oil paintings of still life, landscape, figure and wildlife, as well as science fiction/fantasy inspired illustrations. He exhibited his work at Willingboro Public Library in Feb., 2008.
