Willingboro Public Library and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. will celebrate African American literary creativity with a read aloud from favorite African American authors. For all ages. Refreshments served. This program has been rescheduled from Feb. 7.

 

Program: Meet the Dinosaur Artist, Philip Renne

Bring the whole family for a reading of Philip Renne's new book, Tyrannosaurus vs. Velociraptor, the first in the DynoWars series.  Philip is an employee here at the library and he is also an extraordinary artist!  Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.  Light refreshments will be served.

 

Program: The Power of the Women of Liberia, Pray the Devil Back to Hell

Day, Date & Time: Sun., Mar. 14, 2 p.m.

Registration: Not required

This award-winning documentary film exemplifies the power of women uniting to change the course of history. See how the women of Liberia united against tribal and religious differences to move a stalled peace process. This movement removed a rebel leader and dictator from power and led to election of the first woman president in Africa. Light refreshments served

Registration: Begins May 14

The Hold on to Education Foundation is a local non-profit group that aims to keep kids in school and also promotes higher education for everyone.  This scholarship workshop is open for anyone who is interested in learning how to win scholarships and secure grants to help pay for college.  Light refreshments will be served.
