Willingboro Art Alliance will display artwork from various artists and in various media.

Children’s Programs

 

Free Math Tutoring

Mon. & Wed., Nov. 4, 6, 13, 18, 20, 25, 2-5 pm. Retired teacher Phyllis Stern (The Math Lady) will be in the library to offer free math tutoring to all ages for elementary math through Algebra II.

Games & Legos @ the Library

Tues., Nov. 5, 12, 19, 3:30. Budding engineers in grades Pre-K-3, use your imagination to build your own creations and play games with your friends.

Tiny Tots Story Time

Wed., Nov. 6, 13, 10:30 am.  Bring your children ages 15 months - 5 years to the library and listen to stories and learn finger plays with your little one. Afterwards, enjoy interactive toys and snack in the library’s meeting room.

Give Thanks Story Time!

Wed., Nov. 20, 11 am. Toddlers ages 15 months - 5 years along with their parents and caregivers will enjoy a fun-filled Thanksgiving celebration, including crafts, playtime, and snacks.

Wed., Nov. 6, 20, 3:30 pm. Students in grades 4-6 can get crafty in the Children’s Room.

The Early Bird Gets the Scholarship

Wed., Nov. 6, 7 pm.  Hold On To Education Foundation will teach teens and parents how to gain an edge when applying for college scholarships and financing.

Free Hands-On FAFSA Help

Sat., Nov. 16, 2 pm. Michael Whiting is a lifelong Willingboro resident who works with the NJ Financial Aid Office (HESSA). Attend this hands-on workshop and get your FAFSA completed with the help of a professional! Registration Required.

Cover2Cover High School Book Club

Mon., Nov. 18, 2:15 pm. Get together with friends and talk about the latest great reads for teens – light refreshment will be served.  This program will be held in the Willingboro High School’s MVP Room; all area high school students are welcome to attend.

Customer Appreciation Week, Nov. 4-9

We love our customers! Surprises and treats all week for library users. All prizes are gifts and donations, courtesy of local merchants and vendors.

 

Games and Legos @ the Library

Mon., Nov. 4, 7 pm. Bring the whole family to play games and Legos in the library’s Children’s Room.

Read with the Willingboro Police

Mon., Nov. 18, 7 pm. Willingboro Police Community Engagement Officer Sally Landrum will read children’s books to the whole family in a safe and fun environment. Light refreshments will be served.

Adult Programs

 

Sewing w/MK Designs 

Mon., Nov. 4, 6:30 pm. Learn to make your own DIY gifts; items such as pillow cases, wrist bags, tote bags, mittens, scarves and other such items. No registration required. Come learn to sew @ the library.

Drop-in Computer Classes

Tues., Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Nov. 26, 6 – 7:30 pm. A Literacy NJ, Burlington County Program volunteer will be available in our Computer Technology Center to help improve language skills, prepare for the US Citizenship test, learn Microsoft Office or create a resume. No need to register, first come, first served.

Beginning ESL Classes 

Wed., Nov. 6, 13, 20 & 27, 10 am. Literacy New Jersey, Burlington County will again offer free instruction in English. If you are interested, please call the reference desk at the library, or Literacy New Jersey at 609-877-5566. 

Try Art

Wed., Nov. 6, 7 pm Join us at the Willingboro Public Library to learn a new art skill, we will explore different mediums such as crochet, painting and paper quilling.  Register at the Reference desk starting two weeks before each class. 

Intermediate ESL Classes 

Thurs., Nov. 7, 14 & 21, 10 am. Literacy New Jersey, Burlington County will again offer free ESL instruction to students who already know some English. If you are interested, please call the reference desk at the library, or Literacy New Jersey at 609-877-5566. 

Meet the Author – James C. Ellerbe

Spoken Word Recording Artist, James C. Ellerbe will discuss and sign his book Beyond the Event Horizon. Light refreshments will be served.

Parkinson’s  Disease Lecture 

Wed., Nov. 13, 1:30 pm. Get information for living with Parkinson’s disease from experts, with updates from the Burlington County Friends of PD. Special guests for November’s program are Medicare experts from SHIP (New Jersey State Health Insurance Assistance Program) at RCBC. Sign up any time at the Reference Desk.

Willingboro Police Department & WPL Fall Food Drive

Wed., Nov. 20, 6 pm.  Together as a community let’s fight hunger!  The Willingboro Police Department and the Willingboro Public Library is partnering together to bring free nonperishables for all. The library’s Social Service Associate is available if you wish to make an appointment for assistance with applying for NJ SNAP or pick up information on local food pantries. 

Qigong for Everyone

Thurs., Nov. 21, noon. Master Kim of the National Karate Institute in Moorestown will lead us in gentle yet vigorous exercise, and share his knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine. Register at the Reference Desk any time.

30 Minute Meditation

African Heritage Film Festival

Willingboro Public Library and Links Inc. Rancocas Valley Chapter will host an African Heritage Film Festival 3rd Thursdays of the month. Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. C. Edouard Ward Memorial Concert

Sun., Nov. 24, 2 pm. Warren Orree and the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble will perform a free concert in memory of Dr. C. Edouard Ward, music professor and library benefactor. The library will be open only for this event.

Microsoft Word 2013
