Exhibit: Willingboro Graphic Arts Students Artwork

Willingboro students have talent!  The library is pleased to showcase the works of Willingboro's gifted young artists.

Exhibit Displayed: May 5-29

Children's Programs

Program: Sunday Book Party

Day, Date & Time: Sun., May 4, 2 p.m.

Ages: 4-10

Registration: required

Have fun listening to "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly." Play the "fly" game. Enjoy creating insect mobiles. Wiggly refreshments will be served.

Program: Tiny Tots Story Time Circle

Day, Dates, & Time: Wed., May 7, 14, 21, 28, 10:30am

Ages: 18 mos. - 4

Registration: Begins April 1

Gather at the library for story time and listen as you are read to with friends. "Little readers" will also enjoy learning finger plays, munching on snacks and parent interactive toys in the reading area after story time.

 

Program: Pet Scrapping

Day, Date & Time: Sat., May 10, 2 p.m.

Grades: 1-5

Registration: Required

Bring 4-6 pictures of your pet or favorite animal. We will create a scrapbook to honor your furry, feathery or scaly friend.

 

Program: Board Game Bonanza

Day, Date & Time: Tues., May 13, 7 p.m.

Ages: 5 - 12

Registration: Required

Games and snacks - what a perfect way to relax after a day at school. Bring mom and dad and put them to the challenge.

Program: Kids at Work

Day, Date, & Time: Tues., May 20, 3-5 p.m.

Grades: Pre-K - 6

Registration: Not required

Are you visiting the library after school? Why not hit the books (homework) or read a book while enjoying a healthy snack supplied by us in the Children's room. (Food only permitted during library programs)

Program: Tie-Dye Blast

Day, Date, & Time: Sat., May 24, 2 p.m.

Grades: 2 - 6

Registration: Begins April 25

Are you creative? Show your style at the library. Bring a white t-shirt, hat, scarf or any other item to tie-dye with your library friends. You will enjoy a night of cool books and tie-dye prizes.

 

Teen Programs

Program: Newbery Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Wed., May 14, 3:30 p.m.

Grades: 6-8

Registration: Ongoing

Discuss the latest and coolest books for young teens over refreshments.  Participants receive discuss books free every month.  Students in Willingboro public schools receive extra credit for attending!

 

Program: Willingboro SET (Teen Advisory Group)

Day, Date & Time: Thurs., May 15, 3:30 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Grades: 7-12

Registration: Not required

Calling all teens!!!  Let your voice be heard; we need your input on what's hot and what's not at the library.  Meet with the Young Adult Librarian and let us know what you want; after all, it's your library!!

 

Program: Teen Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Mon., May 12, 3:00 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Grades: 9-12

Registration: Not required

Read any good books lately?  Have a book that you just can't put down?  Get together with friends and fellow readers to talk about your favorite books!  This program will be held in Willingboro High School's MVP Room.  All area high school students are welcome to attend.

Adult/Teen Program

 

Program:  Building and Financing Your Business

Are you in business, or thinking of starting a business? Don Swartz of the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide important information about starting, financing and growing your business.  Don't miss this chance to get expert advice about business loan programs and technical assistance programs, and get your questions answered!

 

Program: Learn to Draw Comics in Manga and Western Styles

Day, Date & Time: Mon., May 19, 6:30 p.m.

Registration: Begins May 5

Comic books and graphic novels are flying off of bookshelves, enjoyed by both young and older readers.  Learn how to draw comic characters and story panels in both the Western and Japanese Manga styles.

Computer Classes

Program: Basic Computing

Days, Dates & Times: Weds. & Thurs., 10 a.m.- noon, May 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29. 

Registration:  Begins two weeks before the first class of the month.

Join this class to learn basic concepts in MS Windows, MS Word, and desktop publishing.

 

Program: Basic Computing - Condensed Evening Class

Day, Dates & Time: Thurs., May 7, 14, 21 & 28, 6-8 p.m.  

Registration:  Begins two weeks before the first class of the month.

A brief, gentle introduction to the use of personal computers.
