Children's Programs

Program: Music & Movement with First Steps Gym

Day, Date & Time: Wed., June 11, 1 p.m.

Ages: 18 mos.-4 yrs.

Registration: Begins May 12

Join the excitement at the library with First Steps Gym! You and your little one will experience the fun of music & movement through singing and dancing. Let your imagination move you as you are entertained with friends!

 

Program: Saved by the Bell, School's Almost Out!

Day, Date & Time: Mon., June 16, 2 p.m.

Ages: 9-12

Registration: Begins May 12

Kids, you're saved by the bell! School is almost out, so get in the mood for fun & games. Visit the library for an afternoon of games, activities and snacks!

 

Program: "Catch the Reading Bug" Summer Reading Club Kick Off

Day, Date & Time: Sat., June 21, 12 - 3 p.m.

Grades: Entering 1-6

Registration: Ongoing

"Catch the Reading Bug" @ your library and stay in the habit of reading throughout the summer! Stop by the library and sign up for our state wide theme and be a part of our summer fun! Registration is ongoing, but if you stop by for the Kick Off you will enjoy a Bar-Bee-Que along with receiving your reading log & bookmark! You will also be able to enter into a prize drawing for a Summer Reading Club T-shirt! 

 

Program: "Catch the Reading Bug" - Summer Reading Club First Meeting

Day, Date & Time: Tues., June 24, 1 p.m.

Grades: Entering 1-3

Registration: Begins June 21

"Catch the Reading Bug" and join W.P.L.'s Summer Reading Club and get buggy while making friends during vacation. You will enjoy crafts, prizes, games and books at every meeting. If you attend camp and can't make the meetings, just read at home and tell a librarian about the book you read and receive a prize!  Books & T-shirts raffled every week just for enjoying adventures through reading.

Teen Programs

Program: Teen Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Mon., June 9, 3:30 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Grades: 9-12

Registration: Not required

Read any good books lately?  Have a book that you just can't put down?  Get together with friends and fellow readers to talk about your favorite books!  This program will be held in Willingboro High School's MVP Room.  All area high school students are welcome to attend.

 

Program: Newbery Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Wed., June 11, 3:30 p.m.

Grades: 6-8

Registration: Ongoing

Discuss the latest and coolest books for young teens over refreshments.  Participants receive discuss books free every month.  Students in Willingboro public schools receive extra credit for attending!

 

Program: Willingboro SET (Teen Advisory Group)

Day, Date & Time: Thurs., June 19, 3:30 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Grades: 7-12

Registration: Not required

Calling all teens!!!  Let your voice be heard; we need your input on what's hot and what's not at the library.  Meet with the Young Adult Librarian and let us know what you want; after all, it's your library!!

 

Adult Programs

Program: Five Ways to Slow, Stop and Prevent Arthritis

Day, Date & Time: Tues., May 20, 2 p.m.

Registration: Begins Apr. 29

Dr. Eric Stofman will tell us how to minimize the impact of arthritis on our lives. If you or someone you love are affected by arthritis, you owe it to yourself to find out what you can do about it! Dr. Stofman is a chiropractor in Cherry Hill. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Program:  Adobe Photo Shop Elements Learning Series

Day, Date & Time: Mon., June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 7 p.m.

Registration: Begins May 19

WPL's own Philip Renne will guide you through a five-week series of photo editing projects, concentrating on a new and specific feature each week.  Learn how to edit, enhance, crop, and make the most of your precious memories or your business publications.  Registration is required, but you do not have to attend all five sessions.

 

Program: Angels 101

Day, Date & Time: Sun., June 8, 2 p.m.

Registration: Begins May 15

Renée Oler-Davis will introduce us to the spiritual adventure of Angel Healing. Find out how to call upon angels for help and guidance, and use their power to heal and to unlock the magical gifts within you. Light refreshments will be served.  

 

Program: Healthy Living: A Way of Life - Chronic Disease Self-Management

Day, Date & Time: Mon., June 9, 6:30 p.m. 

Registration: Begins May 26

This workshop, presented by Willingboro Township's Department on Aging, is a "can't miss", information-packed seminar for those living with chronic disease.  Learn how to manage your disease and your life, rather than your disease managing you. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Program: Cooking in the Cafe 2

Day, Date & Time: Tues., June 10, 7 p.m.

Registration: Begins May 12

Catering Chef Tim O'Toole will conduct a hands-on workshop utilizing some of his own recipes and presentation tips for a "Super Summer Fusion" luncheon.

 

Program: A New Earth

Day, Date & Time: Sat., June 14, 2 p.m.

Registration: Begins May 15

Ken Davis will speak about Eckhart Tolle's best-selling, life-changing, Oprah-endorsed book, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. Join us for the next step of the journey that began with the Secret. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Program: Senior Citizen Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Mon., Jun. 16, 1:30 p.m.

Registration: Not Required

Join us for rousing discussions about the latest books that everyone is talking about!  Seniors of all ages welcome!

 

Computer Classes

Program: Fun with Excel

Registration: Begins two weeks before the first class.

This is your chance to find out all the cool things you can do with Excel!

Day, Dates & Time: Fri., June 13 and 20, 10 a.m.

Registration: Begins two weeks before the first class.

Would you like to find out what's on the World Wide Web, or use e-mail to catch up with friends and family? Get started on the Internet; find interesting websites; set up your free e-mail account; and find out how to send and receive messages, among other things.

 

Friends of the Library

The Summer Book Sale will be held on Friday, June 13 from 12-5 and Saturday, June 14 from 10-4. Please enter the library through the orange double doors at the rear of the building for bargains galore!
