Cooking in the Cafe
The popular Cooking in the Café series at Willingboro Public Library continues on Wed., Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. with a demonstration of Filipino cuisine by Fiesta Bistro. This free program is open to the public. Registration begins Oct. 20.
Manager Babee Berberabe-Miyazaki, along with her sisters and brother, has owned and operated the Fiesta Bistro in the Centrum Shoppes, 219-Q Berlin Rd., Cherry Hill, for over fifteen years. They first opened the bistro in 1993 in an effort both to serve the Filipino community in South Jersey, which was without any local restaurants that served authentic island cuisine, and to introduce other residents to the food staples of the Philippines. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday and serves food in a relaxed, informal cafeteria-style. Berberabe-Miyazaki calls her cooking "Filipino Fast Food," but don't be misled: nothing is preprocessed. All the foods served by the bistro's staff are freshly prepared and dished out.
