Exhibits
Exhibit: African Arts & Crafts Robert House, local genealogist and historian, will exhibit his collection of African arts, crafts and antiques. Mr. House hopes to enlighten the community on the impact the Trans Atlantic slave trade made on Africa and America. Come and enjoy music from Burlington County College Band. Refreshments will be served. This program has been rescheduled from Feb. 6. Meet the Exhibitor: Sat., Feb. 20, 2 p.m. Exhibit Displayed: Feb. 2-26.
Children's Programs
Black History Month Reading Contest Day, Date, & Time: February, Anytime Grades: K - 6 Registration: Not required Read any book by an African American author or about Black history or culture and enter your name in a prize drawing any time in the month of February in the Children's Room.
Program: Money Matters! Day, Date & Time: Thurs., Feb. 4, 4 p.m. Grades: 3-6 Registration: Begins Jan. 21 Want to know all about money: how to save it, how to make it grow, and how to make the most of what you have? Tyrus Ballard, a teen financial wizard will teach you all you need to know to set you on the right path when it comes to money matters!
Program: Make & Take Craft Day, Date & Time: Tues. Feb. 9, 3:30 - 5 p.m. Grades: Pre-K-4 Registration: Not required Kids, visit the library anytime between 3:30 - 5 p.m. and make and take a craft! Art supplies will be available for you to get creative and stimulate your imagination. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
Program: Valentine Chocolate Tasting & Trivia Day, Date & Time: Wed., Feb. 10, 4 p.m. Grades: 5-6 Registration: Begins Jan. 27 You know you love to eat it, but how much do you know about chocolate? Enjoy a chocolate tasting and test your trivia knowledge about this favorite sweet treat!
Program: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Day, Date & Time: Thurs., Feb. 11, 7 p.m. Grades: 1-6 Registration: Begins Feb. 2 Do you have chocolate fever? Visit the library for a movie showing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and enjoy receiving a surprise bag filled with chocolate and other movie treats. You will also have a chance to enter your golden ticket into a prize drawing!
Program: Sunday Book Party Day, Date & Time: Sun., Feb. 21, 2 p.m. Ages: 4-10 Registration: Begins Nov. 29, Dec. 28, Feb. 7 Join your library friends for a Sunday afternoon of stories, crafts and snacks. Each book party will spark your imagination as you enjoy story time adventures and fun, creative crafts. Light refreshments will be served.
Program: Pre-Teen Game On! Day, Date & Time: Mon., Feb. 22, 5:30 p.m. Grades: 5-6 Registration: Not required Take a game break! Come to the Children's Room and kick back with a game of cards, Twister, a board game or jump on the Wii and test your gaming skills. All pre-teens are welcome to drop in and get your game on!
Program: Fancy Nancy Tea Party Day, Date & Time: Thurs., Feb. 25, 7 p.m. Grades: Pre-K-1 Registration: Begins Feb. 2 Fancy Nancy loves to look glamorous; how about you? Dress fancy and enjoy tea and cookies with your library friends. Your stuffed animal or doll is also welcome to join in the fun!
Family Programs
Program: Family Fun! Talk to the Animals with Dr. Lisa Day, Date & Time: Sat., Feb. 6, 2 p.m. Everyone Welcome Registration: Not required Join veterinarian Dr. Lisa Aumiller and her furry and scaly friends for an afternoon of animal fun! Dr. Lisa will demonstrate how her five senses help her communicate with animal patients and how you can use your own senses with your pets. Many of Dr. Lisa's rescued animals will be on hand for everyone to see.
Program: Black History Gala Day, Date & Time: Sat., Feb. 27, 2 p.m. Registration: Not required Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Zeta Delta Zeta Chapter and Willingboro Public Library co-sponsor an afternoon of cultural activity featuring Caribbean and African dances by Vanesca Julme and Joseph Velcime and other entertainment. For all ages. Light refreshments served.
Teen Programs
Program: Cover2Cover Book Club (@ WHS MVP Room) Day, Date & Time: Mon., Feb. 8, 3 p.m. Grades: 9-12 Registration: Not required Read any good books lately? Get together with friends and talk about the latest great reads for teens! A new and exciting book is discussed each month. This program will be held in Willingboro High School's MVP Room. All area high school students are welcome to attend.
Program: Game On! Day, Date & Time: Mon., Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m. Grades: 7-12 Registration: Not required Take a game break this Monday! Come to the Young Adult Room and kick back with a game of cards, Twister, a board game or jump on the Wii and test your gaming skills. All teens are welcome to drop in and get your game on!
Program: Newbery Book Club Day, Date & Time: Wed., Feb. 10, 3:30 p.m. Grades: 6-8 Registration: Ongoing Discuss the latest and coolest books for young teens over refreshments. Participants receive the selected books free every month, and a lively discussion is always welcome.

Day, Date & Time: Thurs., Feb. 11, 4 p.m. Grades: 7-12 Registration: Begins Jan. 28 Teen financial educator Tyrus Ballard will give you the straight talk on money management for teens. Think you're too young to learn about your finances? Then think again! Saving for a car, college, or gaming system will be easier to handle with these teen-savvy money tips.

We'll have fruit, cookies, pretzels, marshmallows, and more to dip into our chocolate fountain. Come in hungry and leave with your sweet tooth satisfied!
Adult Programs
Program: Marketing & Networking Your Small Business Day, Date & Time: Tues. Jan. 26, 7 p.m. Registration: Begins Jan. 15 It's a time of transition in marketing and networking small business. Do you go with online, print, word of mouth, or some combination? Learn the most effective tools for today's market from business coach Sheri Desaretz.
Program: Black History Month Trivia Challenge Day, Date & Time: Feb.1-28, anytime the library is open Stop by the adult reference desk and test your knowledge of Black History. You will be entered in a drawing to win a prize.
Program: Apply for Your Passport at the Library Day, Dates & Times: Tues., Feb. 2 & 16, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Registration: Not required. The Burlington County Clerk's office will process your passport application while you wait. Payment by check or money order only.
Program: What Are Willingboro Library Patrons Reading? Book Café! Day, Date & Time: Wed., Feb 10, 10:30 a.m. Registration: Begins Jan 25 Come and share your good reads with other library patrons over brunch. Come with one to three books that you have recently read and tell us about it. Or just come and find out what good books to read.
Program: Understanding and Coping with Alzheimer's Day, Date & Time: Wed., Feb. 10, 7 p.m. Registration: Begins Jan. 18 The South Jersey Regional Office of the Alzheimer's Association will present a program on this disease that affects 5.3 million Americans and how loved ones can cope. Refreshments will be provided.
Program: Total Transformation Program Day, Date & Time: Thurs., Feb. 11, 18, 25, Mar. 4, 11, 18, 25, 6:30 p.m. Registration: Begins Jan. 11 This seven-week parenting class, presented by the Family Services Organization of Burlington County, will help parents who are struggling with their children's behavior. Appropriate for parents of children of all ages, this program will give you the necessary tools to improve your child's behavior and get them to respect and listen to you again!
Program: The Conversation Continues Day, Date & Time: Sat., Feb. 13, 2:00 p.m. Registration: Begins Jan. 29 Retired educator and Willingboro resident Lena Savage will help us explore the issues raised by Hill Harper's fascinating and controversial new book The Conversation. If you came to our discussion in December, you know how heartening and enlightening it can be for African-American men and women to talk about their shared past, present and future. If not, come join the conversation! Light refreshments will be served.
Program: Job Interview Workshop Day, Date & Time: Tues., Feb.23, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Registration: Begins two weeks before the class. Ready to go back to work, or to find a better job? Improve your interviewing skills, and be well prepared for your interview. This two-hour session will help you learn how to make a great impression!
Program: African-American History in Your Backyard Day, Date & Time: Wed., Feb. 24, 7 p.m. Registration: Begins Feb. 8 In honor of Black History Month, Burlington County Historian Joe Laufer will be giving a presentation on African-American historical sites in Burlington County. Bring the whole family to learn about the rich cultural history in your own backyard.
Computer Classes
Program: PC Basics Days - Day, Date & Time: Mon., Feb. 8, 10 a.m. - noon. Registration: Begins two weeks before each class. This two-hour session introduces students to PCs and the Windows XP operating system. Learn the basics of using a computer and saving and finding your files.
Program: Resume Writing Workshop Day, Date & Time: Tues., Feb. 9, 10 a.m. - noon. Registration: Begins two weeks before the first class. Ready to go back to work, or to find a better job? This two-hour session will help you with the basics of a resume. A good resume is an important tool in landing a great job.
Program: Internet & E-mail Basics Day, Date & Time: Fri., Feb. 19 & 26, 10 a.m. - noon. Registration: Begins two weeks before the first class. Would you like to find out what's on the World Wide Web, or use e-mail to catch up with friends and family? Get started on the Internet; find interesting websites; set up your free email account; and find out how to send and receive messages, among other things.
