Writing the College (and Other) Essays

Learn how at the Willingboro Public Library on Thurs., Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. Workshop leader Alfred Encarnacion is a published writer with work in anthologies Unsettling America and The Open Boat: Poems from Asian America. The program is free and open to the public. Please call 609-877-6668 to register beginning Sept. 1.

Alfred Encarnacion received degrees in English and Creative Writing from Temple University and an MLS from Clarion University. His poems, essays, and short fiction have appeared in numerous literary journals over the past decade, and he has received awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Indiana Writers Conference, and the 2005 Clarion University Writers Contest. In addition, he's led poetry workshops in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where he was one of the featured readers in the "New Poets Discovery Series," sponsored by the YM-YWHA in Philadelphia.
