Women on the Move

 

almadayedit.jpgCelebrate Women's History Month with an afternoon of drama and poetry at Willingboro Public Library on Sat., Mar. 21 at 3 p.m. Local actress/writer Alma Day of the River Line Players will present "Women on the Move," for all ages. Ms. Day will portray Maya Angelou, Eleanor Roosevelt, Zora Neale Hurston, Alice Walker, Hillary Clinton, and Golda Meir among other great women from history. The program is free and open to the public. Registration begins Mar. 6.

           

Alma Day last appeared at Willingboro Public Library with her popular poetry slam, as well as at the Zora Neale Hurston festival in 2007 in a one-woman show as the fabled writer. She has also written and starred in one-woman tributes to abolitionist Sojourner Truth and civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. Day has performed at Freedom Theatre in Philadelphia, as well as Crossroads and George Street Theatres in New Brunswick
