African American History in Your Backyard

  joelaufercompress.jpgIn honor of Black History Month, Burlington County Historian Joe Laufer will present "African American History in Your Backyard" at Willingboro Public Library on Wed., Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. "Burlington County is filled with African American history sites," says Laufer. "Bring the whole family to learn more." Register beginning Feb. 8 for this free program, open to the public.

Joe Laufer was appointed Burlington County Historian by the Freeholders in 2003. He retired after 27 years on the faculty of Burlington County College and, in addition to being Historian, is the Director of Alumni Affairs for Lenape Regional School District. A native of Wilkes-Barre and holder of a master's degree from Catholic University of America, Laufer now resides in Vincentown.
